- How the exam works

ATTENTION: Students must always sign up to the lists available at https://segreteriaonline.unisi.it/

There are two ways to pass the exam

  1. do the midterm exam and the project work, or
  2. do one of the six regular exams available during the academic year and the project work.

The midterm exam and the regular exams consist in a written test containing three exercises on the topics covered in Part I. The written test is aimed at verifying that the student has acquired the basics of decision analysis. During the test, the use of books, slides, notes, etc. is not allowed.

The project work is a homework on the topics covered in Part II and it requires the use of Matlab. The project work gives the student the possibility to apply the methodologies presented in the course to real-world problems. The project work can be carried out individually or in groups of 2 students. Students have to turn in the homework solution within one week after the project assignment.

Project assignment calendar (up to February 2023)

 Midterm exam: January 20 (deadline January 26)
Regular exams: TBA

Students can choose the date of the project assignment. However, the project work is assigned only after the written test is passed.
